Sit and Stay a Spell

This little enterprise, unlike other blogs, seeks not to challenge your political or philosophical ideals, nor will it teach you how to knit in the round, cook the perfect paella, or improve your partner's lackluster libido.* No, La Vacilanda makes no pretense of refinement--be it intellectual or social--or purpose; the sole aim of this inane pursuit is to chronicle the next several months of my life, with a primary focus on my (mis)adventures in Europe, Canada, and the odd American urban center.

For those of you looking for a little more substance, I can guarantee a few philosophical ruminations here and there (likely related to Scottish philosophy, philosophy of science, or political philosophy), interspersed between photoessays depicting me frolicking in the Mediterranean or scaling some Highland craig. While the Europe posts won't come for a few months, perhaps the prospect of seeing me hanging precariously off the side of Ben Nevis or staging a naval battle on a Venetian gondola will occasion you to check in every so often.

But for now, tackling the minutiae of quantum mechanics. Curse you, foul biology major!

*Should you be interested in such blogs, I'd be more than happy to point you in the direction of some of my favorites. My interests are, ahem, varied, to say the least.
